Chiropractic Boosts Brain Function:

The brain is the master control system for the entire body. It sends and receives a complicated frequency of signals with the body that dictate the function of the body. When there is interference in this neurological feedback loop it alters the environment the brain perceives itself to be in which consequently changes the adaptation process the brain orchestrates throughout the body. Chiropractic adjustments have been shown to enhance the sensorimotor integration of the brain with the body.
Many experts have hypothesized that increased stress cycles in the body produce the environment for dis-ease and eventually disease within the body. Stress can come from a variety of sources in the mental/emotional form, chemical form, and physical realm. When the body is under increased stress it responds by increasing its sympathetic tone. This means the body shunts itself into ‘fight or flight’ survival based mode by altering cardiovascular & endocrine function to get itself ready for dynamic activity.

Neurological Stress Creates Sympathetic Dominance:

Increased sympathetic tone causes a release of stress hormones such as adrenalin, epinephrine, and cortisol. This is the same response we get when we are anxious or exercising. This is okay if it is for a short period of time, however, when the stress lasts longer than expected it exhausts the body and causes a state of dis-ease to manifest.
When the brain sends information to the organs, muscles, and tissues of the body this is called efferent neurological flow. In return, the afferent flow of information includes all the messages sent to the brain from skin, muscle, joint, and organ receptors. This afferent/efferent neurological loop is how the body is able to respond and adapt appropriately to its environment.

Increased Stress Affects Multiple Regions of the Body:

The ramifications of increased stress hormones in the body include overworked adrenal glands, lowered immunity, decreased digestive functions, fatigue, & blood pressure disturbances. Increased cortisol levels also cause ligament laxity by stripping critical proteins from the tendon and ligament structures. This causes joint weakness throughout the body including the spine and extremities making them much more susceptible to injury.
Subluxation is a term used to describe mechanical compression and irritation to spinal joints and nerves. Subluxation scrambles the neurological feedback loop by causing altered rhythms of neurological flow. Subluxations are caused by trauma, poor posture, or increased chemical and emotional stresses.

Subluxations and Chiropractic Care:

Subluxations are a physical stress on the body and therefore increase the sympathetic tone so the body shunts its energy toward the fight or flight system. If the subluxation(s) are not corrected they continue to produce this increased stress response. This increases cortisol causing greater joint & ligament laxity in the spine and extremities making them more susceptible to injury. Additionally, increased long-term stress on the body greatly accelerates the degenerative processes of the spine and joints leading to osteoarthritis.
Chiropractic adjustments have been shown to normalize spinal afferent/efferent processes to their proper resting tone. This is like hitting the reset button on the computer when it is malfunctioning. The computer is allowed to pause and reprocess itself. Chiropractic adjustments stop the stress response and restore normal hormonal and cardiovascular function the body. This allows the body to reset itself and begin healing the damage that was done in the body due to chronic stress cycles.
Research performed by Taylor & Murphy demonstrated that chiropractic adjustments enhanced sensorimotor integration, the bodies’ ability to sense where it is in space and effectively coordinate complex movement patterns. This improves function in both the brain and the body. Improved spatial intelligence translates into better physical and mental balance, coordination, and mobility. Chiropractic adjustments make you think and move with better speed, skill, and finesse.

What Is A Leading Cause of Multiple Sclerois?

Do you know one of the leading causes of MS is lack of Vitamin D? Did you know individuals with dark skin nearly always have a deficiency of Vitamin D? I believe you will see over time the leading cause of many challenges we contend with in our modern society has everything to do with Vitamin D. I had a young patient come into my office the other day and said something that greatly impacted me. They said, “I am in the office all the time, I never see sunshine.” Many people are locked into little cubicles at work, or an assembly line, and never see the light of day. I would suggest you take a walk during your break. Go outside for lunch.
Do you know a leading cause of back pain may in fact be lack of Vitamin D? I encourage our patients to take anywhere from 2000 IU up to 10,000 IU per day. It depends on your vitamin D test levels. Your goal is to have a level of at least 40 (the range is 20 to 80). It has been reported that every 100 IU of vitamin D will raise your D level ten points. I continue to see a reduction of pain and improved health with proper D supplementation. ~Dr. Bob DeMaria, D.C. (

Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy Has Been Life Changing For Dr. LaMey & Hundreds of His Patients
I thought I was invincible to the same health challenges I had helped my own patients with for years. The first 37+ years of my life I only had the occasionally sprain, strain, cold or flu. Meanwhile I had helped thousands of my own patients with just about every musculoskeletal condition and so much more. I believed that I took good enough care of myself that I should be immune from similar issues. I was definitely wrong about that assumption. The pain I was about to encounter made me appreciate my patients’ debilitating issues so much more.

One day, I bent over to adjust the back of a large former college football player when and I could barely stand back up. I nearly keeled over on top of the patient. It felt like someone hit me in the low back with a sledge hammer. I knew from experiences with thousands of low back pain and disc herniation patients that this was a serious situation. I struggled through the rest of the day and basically limped to my car that night. To make a long story short I could not walk for days after. I literally crawled around my house to get food or go to the bathroom. There was no sleeping, standing, walking or normal functioning whatsoever. My whole left leg felt like it was in a vice and my low back muscles felt like concrete. It was the worst pain of my life. The pain was a 15 on a 1-10 scale. I knew from clinical experiences that I had serious disc herniations and sciatica.
I finally crawled to my car and painfully drove to the office of one of the best colleague/chiropractors I knew of. When arriving and dragging myself into his office I knew that I desperately needed chiropractic care but could not actually lie down on his table to allow him to exam or even adjust me. He said he had a new therapy machine called PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy) that should be able to help give me at least some relief. Although I had never even heard of PEMF I was willing to try almost anything at this point.

As the PEMF loops pulsed the energy into my tissues I could feel the energy supercharging the damaged tissues in my low back and severely painful/numb leg. I knew this was a healing energy that I was lacking. I was able to stand upright for the first time in days and walk out of the office after a mere 15 minute treatment. I was confident that this new therapy combined with high quality chiropractic care was the key to my recovery. I went for PEMF treatments and chiropractic aggressively for a few months to heal my body to be able to give my own patients the care they deserved. I decided to get a PEMF machine to add as an awesome adjunct to chiropractic care in our offices.

Fast forward nearly four years and our PEMF machine has been life changing for hundreds of our patients as well as myself. I no longer have the debilitating pain associated with lumbar disc herniations, no more sciatica, and my body definitely functions better. I sleep way better at night, have more energy during the day, and my brain seems to also be functioning at a more optimal level. My memory and retention for information is off the charts compared to years past. I have lost about 15 lbs since consistently using the PEMF and I feel much less bloated and inflamed. ~Dr. Eric LaMey

Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF) is one of the best therapies for healing inflammation in the body. The result of this is increased cellular/tissue voltage/energy which results in pain relief, cellular ATP production by the mitochondria, increased pH, an increase of cellular oxygen levels by over 200%, adult stem cell production, increased blood viscosity, bone growth, detoxification, nutrient absorption, and so much more.
